Istanbul Galata University

🏛️ University Overview

Istanbul Galata University (İGÜ) is a private non-profit institution established in 2019 by the Bulut Education Foundation, rooted in the cultural and historic fabric of Istanbul’s Galata district. It began its academic activities in 2020, embodying core values of entrepreneurship, cultural integration, and global perspective.

The campus is housed in a 144-year-old historic building near the Golden Horn, creating a unique setting that blends heritage with modern education. Located in central Beyoğlu, students benefit from immediate access to public transport, historic sites, and urban conveniences.

The university is structured into four faculties—Arts & Social Sciences, Health Sciences, Dentistry, and Sports Sciences—as well as a vocational school and an English Preparatory School. Across these units, Istanbul Galata offers 21 undergraduate and several master’s and PhD programs, all focused on hands-on, career-oriented education.

Istanbul Galata defines its institutional identity as “Local Identity, Global Vision.” It aims to cultivate self-confident, entrepreneurial graduates with strong cultural roots and civic responsibility. It promotes multidisciplinary learning through double-major and minor programs across faculties.

Modern facilities support an interactive learning environment: classrooms are digitally equipped, labs are specialized (especially in health and dental fields), and spaces are available for sports, study, and social activities.

The university hosts a growing international student community, is working to expand Erasmus+ partnerships, and underscores student employability through applied training, internships, and career support.
